Modal commondialog problem?

I am writing a VB6 program which has the capability of getting realtime data and plot it on a form. While I call out the commondialog (color picker or select file) The realtime data and the realtime plot stub up because of the modal commondialog. Did anybody help me to set the commondialog pop up in modeless characteristics?
