CA - Child Endangerment Question?

My wife was at the video store and got asked for a ride by her 2nd cousin. Hes 20 something. He came over to the house, apparently may have called a party line, and met someone. My wife did not know he did this. He later asks my wife for a ride to pickup his girlfriend and they talk about going to the movies. Well, my wife picked his "girlfriend" up. She looked a little younger than him, and my wife asks if she is 18, just to be safe and with a sneaking suspicion shes younger. My wife also asks if she has permission to go out at 7 pm. She says shes 18 and says its ok. So now the two are in the car with my wife and baby and 15 yr old nephew. Somehow things end up in a neighboring city, near where my wifes parents are. They ask to be let out at a residential intersection. Turns out my wife drove by again, and this girl was crying . Then, my wife basically takes her back home as her cousin has dissapeared. Apparently, when they get to the "girlfriends" house, my wife finds out she is only 14. Funny, the girl says she is 15. So anyway, the cousin gets arrested. They were looking for my wife too, but the officer just did a phone interview and wanted to know where to find the suspect....Anyway...so now is my wife guilty of child endangerment. ? I think the DA will press charges. This will destroy her...I need a lawyer ASAP!!! - Anaheim-CA. My wife had no idea that this would happen to the girl. She even asked her if she was under age! but she did look a little young. The cousin claimed she was his girlfriend. Their intent was to go to the movies. Both asked to get out at that residential neighborhood..( happened in an abandoned house ). They both lied to my wife and now she seems to be in load of trouble $^%&&*$^%. Someone HELP !!!!
